Welcome to the Na'amat Canada Vancouver Homepage!
Our active chapter in Vancouver is called Galim, which means "wave". Not only are we continuously "making waves" in our community but we chose the name because we live on the beautiful Pacific coast, with the ocean playing a significant part in our lives. Some of our members might say that as we travel through life, we maneuver the many waves life sends us and we do so with the love, camaraderie and support of our Na'amat family.

Our signature event is our Hamantashen Fundraiser. This involves many weeks of planning, preparation, baking, pinching, packing, shlepping and finally selling our Purim holiday cookies to our hundreds of appreciative buyers.
On a personal note, in October 2004 I attended the Na'amat Canada Leadership Seminar in Israel. I had the opportunity to see Na'amat facilities first-hand and was inspired by the contribution that our organization makes to the well-being of women and children there. As President of Galim, I look forward to working with our dedicated Galim members and to continuing to support Na'amat in Canada and in Israel. Together, we will strive to maintain a vibrant and cohesive local group from which to pursue that goal.
