Welcome to the Na'amat Canada Vancouver webpage!
Our active chapter in Vancouver is called Galim, which means “waves”, in Hebrew. Not only are we continuously “making waves” in our community, but we chose the name because we live on the beautiful Pacific coast, with the ocean playing a significant part in our lives. Some of our members might say that as we travel through life, we maneuver the many waves life sends us and we do so with the love, camaraderie and support of our Na'amat family.

Our signature event is our Hamantashen Fundraiser. In the Vancouver area Na'amat has become synonymous with Hamantashen! After weeks of planning, phoning, baking, pinching and packaging, our members are thrilled to be able to supply these Purim holiday cookies to our hundreds of appreciative buyers – and they in turn help us send crucial fundraising dollars to Israel.
As a native Vancouverite, my strong association to Habonim Dror naturally led me to the first few ground breaking meetings of our Galim Chapter. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I returned to Vancouver (after 5 years involved with Na'amat Calgary and time spent in Ontario) to see what a vibrant, eclectic, enthusiastic group of women this chapter had become! As President, I look forward to working with our dedicated group of women and continuing our goal of supporting Na'amat in Canada and Israel.
