Swing into Action is a national fundraising campaign that will enable Na'amat Canada to build and refurbish playgrounds for 280 day care centres that the organization helps to support across Israel.
The Israeli government has changed the safety standards for all playground equipment throughout the country. As a result, Na'amat is now faced with the task of purchasing new equipment for more than 600 playgrounds that surround our Day Care Centres. Na'amat Canada has made a commitment to raise the necessary funds in order to turn hundreds of obsolete play areas into modern settings for child development, outdoor education, and cherished childhood memories that these children so deserve.
We look to you to Swing into Action with Na'amat Canada; make a contribution towards a playground and help make a difference for children in need. Click here to contribute to the Swing into Action Playground Campaign.

The Glickman Centre Bedroom Campaign
 | | The Glickman Centre Shelter can accommodate 14 women and 16 children at any given time. Currently, the women and children housed within the shelter share living quarters, that is, there are two families to each bedroom. These are very difficult conditions and often cause tension, due to a lack of privacy. The women who live at the shelter may have emotional issues, as do their children, and need their own space.
In accordance with the new regulations from the Israeli Ministry of Welfare, each sheltered family must have their own room and bathroom. As a result, Na'amat Canada has now taken on the tasks of building four new rooms and ensuites, and of converting eight shared bedrooms into twelve private rooms. Na'amat Canada has committed to raising the funds needed for these renovations by July 2008 in order to meet the new government standards and is proud to play a part in supporting the victims of violence being safely housed at the Glickman Centre.

 | | Dollars for David campaign is an annual Chanukah tradition for Na'amat Canada. This fundraising project helps to provide toys, books, games and other holiday treats to the needy Israeli children being cared for at Na'amat facilities. Without the help of our loyal donors, many of these children might have to endure harsh disappointment at Chanukah gift-giving time.
Jewish community members in select Canadian cities have the opportunity to participate in this important campaign as they receive an orange Dollars for David envelope in the Chanukah edition of their local Jewish newspaper. In addition, hundreds of Toronto area school children have also jumped on the Dollars for David bandwagon by giving tzedakah, in lieu of standard gifts, to honour their teachers. Click here to make your donation to the Dollars for David campaign, at any time of the year.
